How much would an animator earn in Malaysia and/or Singapore

How much would an animator earn in Malaysia and/or Singapore?
Kay... it's like this. I'm a M'sian and I LUV luv luv luv LUV animation (2D & 3D)! I absolutely adore it! It's my passion and it's what I want to pursue in the future. My dream... like many other aspiring animators is to work in Pixar and Disney.... But of course I'm taking it one step at a time. So now... I'm preparing to go to college and I know what I want to take right? But the problem is that some of my relatives think that animation is not a suitable course because it doesn't make that much money.... and that animation is for school dropouts who have not much option left. They want me to take a broader subject like computer science, I.T., nursing, or multimedia cuz I will have more job opportunities and be safer money-wise. I know it's totally ridiculous(though I didn't tell them that, of course)... cause animators DO make good money and it's not some trivial-last-resort kind of job either..... it's hard work. Besides.... I'm not doing it for the money, I'm doing it because I LUV it... But they mean well, and I'm grateful for them. However, they did make one good point... that is M'sia does not have much job opportunities for animators as other countries such as Korea, and the U.S... M'sia is just beginning to discover the potential of animation. It will take years before they become (if they becum) an 'animation hub of the world.' So if I become an animator here after graduating I might just end up designing or animating web pages for various companies. If I want to find real work I have to go overseas which my parents can't afford. So I guess my question should be, "Can a Malaysian make a living being an animator in his own country?" I don't want to end up having to do some small job... I want to create characters, I want to put colors into new ideas, I want to make my stories come to life and share them with everyone! But I can't just follow my dreams and not get a single cent... because I have to help my other siblings fulfill their ambition too. Are my relatives right? Should I take a broader course just to be safe or should I put all my effort and passion into specializing in animation? Are there any M'sian animators reading this? HOW MUCH ARE YOU EARNING? Give me some proof that I can show my relatives that I can make a living being an animator in my own country. Help me pls. If I have no choice but to go overseas, Singapore is my best option. I heard that they have a universal studio over there. How much would I make in Singapore then? anyone?

you will earn around rm800-1200 if no projects going on.....under project(which depends on how big that project)rm1200-2500...not more or less...dont think of SG coz they hardly involve in animations...they know they are not pro in it so they gave up.....malaysia itz freakin rare to get employed in this field...only serious project was 'upin & ipin' where the animator earned rm2300 per month...unless your dad is rich and u wanna do a brand new project under you then u might earn HELL LOTZ OF MONEY!!

Has the Chinese once again surpass or outpace us in terms of medical studies & research

Has the Chinese once again surpass or outpace us in terms of medical studies & research?
It was featured on the TFC program the Correspondent episode with Karen Davila entitled "gamot sa salot" which pertain to cancer diseases. Right now the Chinese are the one have the edge in cryosurgery at Fuda, China. So what is cryosurgery all about? Cryosurgery is a technique for freezing and killing abnormal cells. It is used to treat some kinds of cancer and some precancerous or noncancerous conditions, and can be used both inside the body and on the skin .Cryosurgery is an alternative to surgery for liver cancer that has not spread, for cancer that has spread to the liver from another site, for prostate cancer confined to the prostate gland, for a precancerous condition of the cervix, and for cancerous and noncancerous tumors of the bone Cryosurgery may have fewer side effects than other types of treatments, and is less expensive and requires shorter recovery times The technique is still under study, and its long-term effectiveness is not known. This research is being applied in China for the past 10 years, yet still unknown in the Philippines. Why? That is why everybody is going to China for the treatment of cancer. European and even Filipinos who have money. Because the treatment is quite expensive. A package deal consist of $20,000. with complete treatment and a medicine injection that guarantee that the cancer cell will not resurface once again. Which most victims claim much better than what the Philippines doctors usually recommend the chemo and the radiaction treatment which kills even the good cell. I am really surprise about this episode because I thought Filipino doctors are good in terms of medical research and studies. But after this, I think otherwise. We are being outpace by Chinese doctors maybe not only in cryosurgery but a lot of things concerning medical research either cancerous cells or viruses. What is wrong with our medical field? We run out of money? The Philippine government is not funding the Philippine medical research? Maybe 3-7 years from now even the Koreans or Malaysian doctors have the edge in medical studies too. NAIWAN NA TALAGA TAYO SA PANSITAN. With all the cheating in nursing profession and other fields, who would believe Filipinos are good now a days. Nakakapanghinaan ng luob watching the development of other countries na hindi tayo kasama. What is happening to our country?

Medical research? What's that? Does it exist in the Philippines? Whatever medicine, procedures and medical equipment we have (except for the handful of herbal-based supplements that are originally Pinoy), are a result of research abroad --- mostly American, plus medical experts from other developed nations. China is catching up real fast. The AH1N1 vaccine is out in the US, and less than a year in the making. On the other hand, Dengue is usually a problem in the tropics, and not an American disease. Although it is not transmitted from person-to-person and thus not likely a cause of a pandemic, it is nevertheless a deadly virus. We Filipinos should have come up with the solution already, including a vaccine. But noooo, because we don't have the facilities, or doctor-scientists, even if we have good doctors in our hospitals to deal with after-the-fact problems. If we are waiting for the US or other nations to come up with a dengue vaccine, it should not take too long for them, but still they will take forever to do it, as their own countrymen won't benefit from it, and the drugs won't sell, not on a worldwide basis anyway. They are still corporations, in existence to make money, money that will go to further research. What major drug company do we have in the Philippines that won't just sell generics, but will undertake such research? None.

chinese medicine surpass western medicine since time immemorial and when filipinos became excellent in their fields, they no longer want to remain filipino, they would go to first world countries, become citizens there and do the best effort for the interest of that country and not the Philippines and just say their heritage is filipino. Yeah!.
3 :
IT IS ONLY THE POLITICIANS WHO ARE ALL DOING THE RESEARCHING AND THAT IS HOW TO STEAL MONEY FROM THE PEOPLE AND STASHED INTO THEIR POCKETS.
4 :
Um, I don't remember a time when they haven't

i applaud your patriotism and enthusiasm for our culture, but sometimes you're just way off the mark with your sentiments. why don't you just concentrate on manny pacquiao?... ...oh on second thought, don't.
6 :
Are you joking? Have you ever been to a hospital in China? I have been many times and have mostly had bad experiences. I went to one Chinese hospital to visit a Briton who had a broken clavicle and they had him in dirty bed in a hallway because the wards, which are more like warehouses, were full. The Filipino physicians I have seen have been western-trained and very competent.

Scholarship or bank loan for a degree

Scholarship or bank loan for a degree?
I'm finished with my nursing course, and i want to get into Flinders University in Adelaide under the Pre-Registration Bachelor of Nursing, but its $18000 p.a. I'm a Malaysian, but a Singapore PR, is there any way that i can get a scholarship? I'm not sure if bank loans are advisable, i'm afraid of paying back the loan amount, with the high interest. Furthermore,my family is not so supportive of me so i'm only depending on myself. Please don't tell me anything about FAFSA or anything that is under the US, they won't be able to help, like i said, I am a Malaysian and a Singapore PR. I am really keen to go,but i just don't know how to get the money. Thanks.

salary in malaysia are below suck..... do u agree

salary in malaysia are below suck..... do u agree?
especially if u r a government servant..no wonder police always accept bribes, after working more than 23 years as a techer with a diploma my mom salary is still merely 2+++,working as a clerk with endless workload maby get u 900 bucks(minus epf =750),working at kfc or mcd get u few buck enough just to pay ur rental room and ur foods and to buy ur montly train travel ticket, fresh grad pay around 1500.do u think its enough?i dont think these people can even afford to go to clinic if they fall sick......or pay for medical expenses if they got sick and not covered by insurance or company panel clinic.i'd rather die than to go to the general hospital.with its massive crowds and the super snobbish nurses.Seriously, malaysian deserve to have pay raise especially with the high living cost nowadays.see the gulf countries.they give pay fairly .see how rich the arabs and how comfortable their life that hordes of them floods the malaysian streets every summer with their entourage. if i were a politician in the dewan negara i would absolutely suggest the minimum salary to be set at 6 or 7 ringgit per hour..... chicken, dont be offended,im talking based on my experience,i just went to kl gh a week ago,to accompany a friend of mine ,and i'm nearly slap a face of a rude young female nurse coz she was screaming at me .she was like : you guys dont know how to wait outside?(yelling with her sour face). If i tell the truth...is that call insulting?i know millions of people have the same opinion with me,government hospital service can be irritating anyway chicken....teaching is not a 9-5 job...teachers merely work from 8-1,but their workload are so much that they sacrifice their times with their own family as part of their commitment and what shall we do?no chicken we shouldnt leave the country, but instead we should fight for our right!its not fair that ur boss spending lots of money for his business class expenses, for his refreshment with clients at big hotels, his golf game, his car feul, his phone bills, casual lunch for company superior at hotels ,and yet....they pay u a meager i know many people out there making side income source, like having 2 jobs, direct selling, selling this and that, freelancing ,swiss cash, forex and whatever s*** some even sell at pasar malam ......its a pity that our malaysian have to go through this to cope with the increasing living standard, the rich become more rich and the poor become poorer, bosses got all sort of privilleges and workers dying working to build the company profile

Do something about it,go into business with me and makes some real money,I need a partner in that part of the world
3 :
On the other hand, you work for so little that you steal American jobs and increase our unemployment here in America. So why should I care about you, you have a job?
4 :
Yes. You almost gave all the answers
5 :
Well, when I went back to Malaysia 2 years ago, I was absolutely in shock at how much RM1 can get you and it got you very little. I went to Starbucks and already a cup of coffee cost RM10+. That's coffee folks. For me it was no problem because I am making money in US Dollars & I figured if I was making RM25,000+ a month, I would be pretty well off in Malaysia (if only I could find that job in Malaysia). But seriously for the locals, it must really be difficult to live in Malaysia if you make less than RM5000. Money value is so small nowand if you live and work in Kuala Lumpur, its a struggle as even food cost a lot more.
6 :
Totally agree, everything price went up but not salary.
7 :
yup.. someone from us probably may be elected to be dewan negara rep so that we can fight for minimum wage...
8 :
agree with you 100%
9 :
Yes. The salary in Malaysia is currently very low compared to other progressive countries. However, the prices of goods in Malaysia is considered cheaper than many other progressive countries. In my opinion, Malaysia government is able to increase the salary of their workers equivalent to other nations if they could get rid of corruption totally. Corruption give a very serious impact on government revenue. as such, government do not have sufficient funds to develop the country. Moreover to pay their workers with fat salary. The Malaysian people should have consorted effort to fight corruption and should avoid being self centred. They should think of helping the government to achieve their goals for the benefit of the nation and its people. Otherwise, nothing will change and the people will become poorer and poorer. If U want to progress, U have to look at things at a bigger perspective not only at yourself.
10 :
So what shall we do? Leave the country? You need to learn to live with it. If u need a better pay, get a job with higher responsibilities and risk. Life might be stressful but it fulfills your criteria for a better pay. Not a 9-5 teaching job. Try not insulting the government hospitals. It is a place where many lives have been saved and serves the society, just like the school. You rather die than going to government hospital?? uhuh, what about the rest of Malaysians who are depending on government hospital? you advising them to die rather than seeking for medical treatments? And the snobbish nurses that you were insulting have most probably done million noble deeds. They clean peopleĆ¢€™s poo p, change diapers, clean vomitus, feed the disabled babies, helped your mum during her deliveries, and list goes on ..Etc.
11 :
What you did mentioned was only some extreme cases which I still can agree with you.actually for fresh grad, basically the pay is around 1800-2500MYR/m.Some might get below and some might lucky to get >2500.For me,I'm fresh grad and currently attach to a Dutch company operating here as a reprersentative office for asia pac.I earn 3000/m.My friend's basic sdalary is 1500/m,buttt he frequently go to offshore, and after add up with his travel allowances++, average he could earn up to 5k monthly. It just the matter of luck. But overall,I agree with you,the average salary here in Malaysia is suck.
12 :
Too many public servants, don't work also get pay at the month, why so hardworking, work never end lah..... If you want fast service pay under the table loh or else wait loh! Reduce the manpower, improve the efficiency, don't suka suka pocket money, then will be enough to pay the good guys
13 :
sad
